Madhav Narayan Vrat Devotees Take Holy Bath in Bagmati River at Pashupatinath

As part of their provincial tour, devotees observing the Madhav Narayan Swasthani vrat took a holy bath in the Bagmati River at Pashupatinath early Sunday morning. The pilgrimage, which began in the historic town of Sankhu, saw participants following traditional rituals, including worship and ceremonial baths. These one-month-long vrat practitioners also perform similar rituals at other rivers and ponds across the Kathmandu Valley. The sacred vrat, which commenced on the full moon day of Paush Shukla, will continue until the full moon day of Magh Shukla. Kathmandu, Nepal — January 18, 2026.

माधव नारायण ब्रतालुहरू प्रदेश यात्रा को क्रममा आइतबार बिहानै पशुपतिस्थित बागमती नदीमा स्नान गरेका छन्। पौराणिक सहर साँखुमा सुरू भएको माधवनारायण स्वस्थानीका ब्रतालुहरू पशुपतिनाथ आएका हुन्। एक महिने माधवनारायण स्वस्थानीका ब्रतालु एवम् रितले उपत्यकाका अन्य नदी तलाउमा पनि यसैगरी पूजापाठ तथा स्नान गर्छन्। पौष शुक्ल पूर्णिमादेखि सुरू भएको ब्रत माघ शुक्ल पूर्णिमासम्म लाग्नेछ।
