Foreign Tourists Join Holi Celebrations at Basantapur Durbar Square

Foreign tourists joined Nepalis in celebrating the vibrant festival of Holi Festival at Basantapur Durbar Square, joyfully applying colors and embracing local traditions on the occasion of Fagu Purnima. Crowds gathered around the historic square, where the week-long festivities began with the erection of the ceremonial ‘Chir,’ symbolizing the start of Holi. Although this year’s celebrations appeared relatively subdued due to the upcoming House of Representatives election and administrative requests to avoid large gatherings, both locals and visitors were seen enjoying the festive spirit from early morning in the heart of the capital.
