Madhyapur Thimi celebrated the tongue piercing festival(जिब्रो छेड्ने जात्रा) on September 39, 2023. Balram Shrestha from Madhyapur Thimi had his tongue pierced at the premises of Bhairav Temple in Thimi this year. The festival is celebrated on the evening after Yenya Punhi (Indra Jatra), which falls on the night of Bhadra Shukla Purnima. After the piercing, Shrestha walked around Pashupatinath Temple(UNESCO World Heritage sites) and Bode.
