Sikali Jatra Rudrayani Festival Celebrations in Khokana, Lalitpur

Sikali Jatra, also called the Rudrayani Festival, is celebrated by the Newar community in Khokana, Lalitpur, Nepal. The festival starts on Ghatasthapana with eight unmarried boys performing secret Tantric rituals at the Sikali Temple for four days. On the fifth day, the idol of Goddess Rudrayani is carried on a wooden palanquin to the temple, accompanied by mask dances, yagya, and ceremonial sacrifices.
