Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu

Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu 2022
Pashupatinath (the protector of all animals) Temple is one of the oldest Lord Shiva-dedicated Hindu temples in Nepal. Legends say that one of the disguised forms of Lord Shiva, a deer, once lost its horn. Later a cow called Kamadhenu Gai came there and offered her milk on the burial of the horn. Locals found this and got amazed. They dug there, found the beautiful linga, and later constructed the wooden Temple. But evidence shows that the temple was built by Prachanda Deva, a Lichchhavi King.

At present, Pashupati temple has four main doors, all covered with silver sheets, and has a gold pinnacle (Gajur). Kailash dada, Mrigasthali, AaryaGhat, Gurighat are the areas of Pashupatinath. The temple is visited by Hindus and tourists almost every day.
