Janaki Mandir, Janakpur

Janaki Mandir is built using stones and marble and is dedicated to Goddess Sita (wife of Lord Ram). Legend says the temple was built on the holy site where Sannyasi Shurkishordas had found the images of Goddess Sita. As per historical evidence, Queen Vrisha Bhanu of Tikamgarh, India, in 1911 AD, constructed the temple investing nine lakhs, and thus, it is also called Naulakha Mandir. Janaki Temple gets numerous Hindu devotees visits during festivals like the Ram Navami, Vivah Panchami, Dashain, Deepavali, and Holi.
