I would not even know what I almost missed behind if I didn’t turn back…
To be forward-looking seems to be the general wisdom. But, turning behind to look back at the road traversed is rewarding at times. Returning from the day’s work during a field expedition in Dolpa, Nepal, I thought of having one last look at the mountain, which I won’t possibly see for the next few years at least. This view somehow felt like the proverbial “once in a blue moon” moment, reminded me that unexpected treats could be behind us as we chase what we expect ahead in life…
