Halo ploughing

Nepalese man ploughing the field with “Halo” during the month Asar(monsoon season) for rice plantation(Ropai). Halo ploughing is the traditional way of ploughing the field for cultivation with ox or bull in Nepal.
15th of Ashar(3rd month in Nepali Calendar) is celebrated as National Paddy Day (Dhan Diwas) in Nepal. This marking Asar 15 as Dhan Diwas has been going on since 2005 after getting recognition from the Ministry of Agriculture, Nepal.
