Gunla Parva

Gunla Parva is a month-long festival celebrated by the Buddhist Newar community of the Kathmandu Valley every year, from Shravan Shukla Pratipada Tithi to Bhadra Shukla Pratipada. It is celebrated by reciting scriptures, observing fasts, and visiting places of worship while playing devotional music.

Gunla is the name of the tenth month of the Nepal Era(August). It is a sacred month dedicated to the Lord Buddha and is celebrated in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur and is an important event in Newar Buddhism.
