Gunla is the name of the tenth month of the Nepal Era(August). It is a sacred month dedicated to the Lord Buddha and is celebrated in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur and is an important event in Newar Buddhism.
Gunla Parbha or Gunla Festival is celebrated throughout the month by reciting scriptures, observe fast and visit places of worship playing devotional music.
