Gosainkunda during the winter season

At an elevation of 4,380 meters in the Rasuwa District of Nepal, Gosaikunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake with a 34-acre surface. The Gosaikunda Lake complex, which includes related lakes, has 2,500 acres and is a Ramsar site. In winter, from October to June, the lake freezes for six months before melting to produce the Trishuli River. 108 lakes may be found nearby. On its environs is the Lauribina La pass, which rises to a height of 4,610 meters.
