Ghadiarwa Pokhari, Birgunj

Ghadiarwa Pokhari(घडिअर्वा पोखरी), a historical site in Birgunj, was inaugurated by King Birendra Shah on 13th Poush 2056 BS. Once a simple pond, it has now become a popular religious and tourist destination, especially during the Chhath festival. As part of Nepal’s tourism development program, it was selected as one of 100 potential tourist spots. The Sun Temple, home to the largest sun statue in South Asia and a Ganga statue, adds to the spiritual significance of the site, where daily Arati is held, attracting visitors to experience its religious atmosphere.
