Cooking Gas Shortage Leads to Half-Cylinder Sales in Kathmandu

Amid a growing shortage of cooking gas in the market, the sale of half cylinders has started from Friday to provide some relief to consumers. With supply gradually declining, distributors have begun offering half-filled cylinders so that more households can access cooking fuel during the shortage. In Kathmandu, the effects of the shortage have become increasingly visible as residents line up early in the morning at gas distribution centers. Long queues of consumers were seen at the office of Nepal Oil Corporation in Teku, where people gathered to secure cooking gas. Officials say rising tensions in West Asia have disrupted international fuel supply chains, and the impact is now being felt in Nepal. Kathmandu, Nepal – March 14, 2026.
बजारमा खाना पकाउने ग्यासको अभाव बढ्दै गएपछि शुक्रबार देखि आधा सिलिन्डर (आधा ग्यास) बिक्री सुरु गरिएको छ। आपूर्ति घट्दै जाँदा उपभोक्तालाई केही राहत दिन आधा सिलिन्डर ग्यास उपलब्ध गराउन थालेका हुन्।
राजधानी काठमाडौँमा ग्यास अभावको असर देखिन थालेसँगै उपभोक्ताहरू बिहानैदेखि ग्यास खोज्दै वितरण केन्द्र धाउन थालेका छन्। नेपाल आयल निगम को टेकुस्थित कार्यालयमा बिहानैदेखि ग्यास लिन आउने उपभोक्ताहरूको लामो लाइन देखिएको छ। पछिल्लो समय पश्चिम एसियामा बढ्दो तनावका कारण अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय बजारमा इन्धन आपूर्तिमा असर परेको र त्यसको प्रभाव नेपालमा समेत देखिन थालेको बताइएको छ।
