Black-headed Gulls have arrived ! Travelers on their long southbound journey. These flocks are moving down from the frozen lakes and wetlands of southern Russia, Mongolia, and the Tibetan Plateau, crossing mountain corridors into Nepal. Kathmandu serves as a brief resting ground before they continue further south toward the great plains and coastal wetlands of India and Bangladesh where they’ll spend the winter months.
