Pipalchaur, located in Ward No. 2 of Namobuddha Municipality, Kavrepalanchok, is a historic and touristic Newar village situated at an altitude of 1,300–1,500 meters. It has historical significance dating back to the Malla era as a key trade and postal route, with the Bhimsen Temple, built in 1915 BS, still standing as a landmark. The village consists of around 80 households, primarily of the Shrestha and Bajracharya clans, with agriculture as the main livelihood. Rich in culture, Pipalchaur follows traditional Newar customs through its Guthi system and celebrates major festivals like Bhimsen Khata Jatra and Krishna Khata Jatra with great importance. The village is a growing tourist attraction with significant religious sites, stunning Himalayan views from Ghumko viewpoint, and thriving homestay services offering authentic cultural experiences. Inspired by Bandipur, the village has been beautifully preserved with stone-paved paths and a vehicle-free environment, adding to its historic charm.
