Great One-horned Rhinoceros गैँडा

The Great One-horned Rhinoceros, or Indian Rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis), is a large herbivorous mammal native to the grasslands and forests of India and Nepal. It weighs up to 2,700 kg and is recognized for its thick, armor-like skin and single black horn. Once critically endangered, conservation efforts have increased its population to over 4,000. These solitary grazers feed on grasses, fruits, and aquatic plants and are commonly found in protected areas like Kaziranga and Chitwan National Parks.
This photo was taken in the Madi sector of Chitwan National Park while a rhino was crossing the river.
