Graylag Goose कल हाँस

The greylag goose (Anser anser) is a large, gray-brown waterfowl native to Europe and Asia, often found in wetlands, lakes, and grasslands. Recognizable by its orange beak and pale gray plumage, it’s the ancestor of domestic geese. Greylags are herbivorous, feeding on grasses, seeds, and aquatic plants. Highly social, they form flocks during migration and breeding. Known for their loud, honking calls, they are a common sight in agricultural areas, where they sometimes cause crop damage.
A greylag goose, a rare and exciting visitor, was spotted and photographed at Taudaha Lake near Kathmandu, bringing added charm and significance to this tranquil and ecologically rich wetland habitat.
