Mane Festival, humla, Nepal

The Mane festival(माने पर्व) is an important festival celebrated by the lamas of the Humla district of Nepal. The festival usually takes place in August, but the exact date depends on the lunar calendar.

During the Mane Festival, lamas perform various rituals and dances to honor the gods and ask for blessings of health, prosperity and a good harvest. One of his highlights of the Mane Festival is the Cham Dance (Mask Dance) performed by lamas in colorful costumes and masks.
