Rishi Panchami in Nepal is celebrated one day after the Teej festival. On Rishi Panchami day, women take detailed and herbal bathing while chanting “Forgive me “. They use a special plant called Dattyun to brush their teeth and various herbs to clean their body and private parts. This religious bath is believed to cut off all the “sins” committed by women during each monthly cycle of the previous year. After the bath, they wear new clothes, worship Sapta Rishis, and seek blessings.
