Gyalpo Lhosar marks the Tibetan New Year. Tsechu Chyam is another name of Gyalpo Lhosar. Gyalpo Lhosar is observed by the Sherpa people of Nepal, Tibetans, and many Asians worldwide. Gyalpo Lhosar celebrations last for almost two weeks. People go to local monasteries to worship and chant Mantras. During Gyalpo Lhosar in Nepal, people eat Khapse and other mouth-watering dishes, drink beverages and sing and dance to traditional Sherpa songs.
